Dating in the Dark...

Have you seen the new show "Dating in the Dark"? This is an interesting concept where they have 3 girls and 3 guys and they learn about each other in the dark. Basically, they cannot see each other, they just get to know each other based on their personalities. Then they go on one on one dates in the dark and also they go on one on one dates with the person they are matched up with, based on information they gave at the beginning of the show. In the first show they even had them describe what they think the opposite sex looks like. The guys description of the girls was pretty accurate but the girls descriptions were a bit off.
At the end they either meet on the balcony if they think there is a connection or they leave out the front door if they don't think there is one.
Interesting in the second show that all three girls picked the same guy and yet no one met him out on the balcony. Two of the girls felt they were not a match with him and the third girl who did feel a connection just felt he was too young for her.
Can you imagine if this is how everyone dated? I mean it says something for what people base their relationships on. In the first episode the one girl who got the best looking guy said that if she had seen him first in a regular situation, she would have never approached him.
This show is good in the sense that it shows that we should not judge a book by its cover. You can be attracted to someone physcially but then maybe not hit it off once you get to know them. On the other hand, you also may not be initially attracted to someone but once you get to know them, they start to become quite attractive to you.
This is why I think that although we do base initial meetings on looks, you do have to get to know the person to see if you are a match.
Think about that the next time you go on a date with someone and if you missed these first two episodes, there will be another one on next Monday night. Let me know what you think about this concept and if you did see the show, let me know your opinion. Happy dating!
